Benidorm will introduce a new initiative called the “Benidorm Card”, a payment card of 200 euros, available to people or families of Benidorm that’s require financial aid during the economic crisis generated by Covid.
Mayor Toni Pérez explained that the initiative is needed “as an extraordinary economic aid intended to cover basic essentials at this time, ease conditions and protect the general interest of residents.”
The key to the measure, explained the mayor, is that “the full amount must be consumed in establishments in Benidorm, which will also contribute to the economic recovery of the city, as they can be used in all types of businesses”.
The card will be valid from the 21st Decemeber and town hall will allocate €600,000 euros to be spent in the town by residents.
The 3000 beneficiaries will be informed individually of the place, date and time they must come to collect their card to avoid queues and crowds, complying with the protocols.
